Expandable Prosthesis

An inflatable prosthesis is an implantable medical device used to treat severe erectile dysfunction (ED) and is one of the most widely adopted and highly satisfactory penile prosthesis types internationally. The procedure involves implanting a fluid-filled prosthesis into the corpora cavernosa of the penis, with the fluid reservoir and control pump positioned in the pelvic cavity and scrotum, respectively. To achieve an erection, gently squeezing the control pump within the scrotum directs fluid into the prosthesis, resulting in penile rigidity; after use, pressing the release valve allows the fluid to return to the reservoir, restoring the penis to its natural flaccid state.
