Graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine, holding both a master's and a doctoral degree from the same institution. Previously served as Director of the Breast and Thyroid Center at Asan Medical Center. Currently holds positions as an Adjunct Professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital. Received training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center, University of California Davis Medical Center, and the San Francisco Institute for Microsurgery. Is a formal member of the Korean Society of Breast and Thyroid Surgery, the Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Korean Society of Endoscopic Surgery.
