Earned a master's degree at Seoul National University and completed an internship at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital. Previously served as a surgeon at Seoul National University Hospital, physician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, former director of Hanming Clinic, former dean of Abiru Clinic Myeong-dong Branch, and former director of VS Line Clinic. Member of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the Korean Society for the Study of Obesity. Received an award from the President of the Korean Medical Association in 2002, and won the Best Presentation Award at the Autumn Meeting of the Korean Society of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery in 2014–2015.
